A Step Above Dance Classes

Welcome to A Step Above – Where Dance is for EVERYONE!

We believe in valuing not just the dancer, but every family member. Our enthusiastic teachers are committed to building solid technique while sharing their love for dance. Our studio is a warm, inviting, and family-friendly space, ensuring each child feels at ease and empowered. Beyond dance, we instill life lessons that extend far beyond graduation.

Dynasty Program:

For those beginning their dance journey or seeking a fun extra-curricular, this program offers style exploration without a hectic schedule. No minimum hours required. Dynasty students dazzle in our Spring Recital, focusing on growing basic movement, technique, and performance skills.

Empire Program:

Designed for dancers with exceptional work ethic and a deep love for dance. We cultivate not just technique, but a supportive, creative community. Empowering dancers with responsibility, leadership, and teamwork, we accelerate their growth in various styles. Attendance is key in this competitive team.

Our Empire members shine at 3-4 regional competitions yearly, and participate in in-house Master Classes and our Production Routine. They are known as versatile, well-rounded dancers who excel in various styles and community service.

Both programs embody kindness, passion, drive, and determination, fueled by inspiration, encouragement, and opportunity. We welcome boys and girls ages 2 to 18 to join our dance family. I was given the recommendation of A Step Above Dance Studio. They have been wonderful with Maddie, but I am going to talk about Jack. I had decided that gymnastics would be great for him. The kid loves to move and flip all over the place. I spoke to the owner, Sierra Harmon and we agreed to have him try. Our 1st meeting was last week. Jack was all over the place, but they took it with stride. When I got back to the car I was feeling a little defeated. How was I going to make this work for him, he was bouncing off the walls when we were in class, but he had a blast.

This week Sierra, the owner, reached out to me. And I was in grateful tears throughout our conversation.  She is determined to make ASA dance a place for Jack to learn, have fun and be accepted for him. Her words were “He is just such a sweet kid and I can’t stop thinking about how much he deserves this. He deserves to be part of something just like any other kid.”

This woman that is a perfect stranger, has never worked with Autism and has a business to run and a million other things going on but SHE GETS IT!!! Her words overwhelmed me with such gratitude that someone that has only met him once is willing to jump through hoops to help him with something just for fun, not because it is necessary.  Of course his Occupational Therapist are thrilled that he is doing gymnastics. But this wonderful ” stranger” has agreed to become part of Team Jack simply because she feels he deserves a typical experience.

We are over the moon to be  welcomed by ASA dance and Sierra. We are also thrilled to welcome them into the life of Jack.
