Jill Myers

Jill Myers - A Step Above Dance Studio

Jill Myers is entering her 28th year of instructing dance. She began dancing at the age of three and has been a student at the Ohio University Summer School of the Arts. She has been instructed by Kit Andree, Mallory Graham, Thommie Walsh, Liz Imperio, Kim Alexander, Jill Zmijewski, and Stepp Stewart just to name a few. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Tiffin University in Business Administration with a concentration in leadership with academic honors.

Jill has helped choreograph numerous musicals and has judged many dance competitions and pageants. Her team has received two national sportsmanship awards. During the 2017 competition season, her dancers received an abundance of overall awards, along with Judges Awards, Performance Awards and Scholarships.

Jill is married to her hero, Chad, and loves spending time with their amazing 11 year old son Mr. Awesome (Jonah), family, friends and their four rescue dogs. In July 2017, competed in the Mrs. Captivating National Pageant and placed 1st runner up!

Two things to know about Jill:

  • Flamingos are her favorite bird
  • Chocolate, shoes, the Yankees, and shopping = a few of her favorite things!
  • She once got lost in the Mall of America and wasn’t sad about it

Susan Ward

Susan Ward - A Step Above Dance Studio

Susan Ward has been teaching the art of dance for more than 30 years. She has a love for the theater, and has been in and/or choreographed more than 40 different musicals in area theaters and schools. She has competed and judged regional, state, and national dance competitions and pageants. Sue has choreographed routines for the A Step Above competition team that have been performed at Disney in Florida and have won overall and platinum awards.

On the regional and national level she is known for her unique choreography and has been honored with numerous judges and choreography awards. Previous awards include Most Original Concept for her routine, Paradise (2010), and Most Entertaining awarded to her routine, Swan Fake (2012). In 2011, at Cathy Roe’s Ultimate Dance Competition, Susan’s routine, Come Together, won the Top Choreography award. In 2016, Miss Sue’s students had the honor of winning 1st overall Tween solo, 1st overall Tween small group and Top Performance Award for her one of her small groups and production routines.

Two things to know about Miss Sue:

  • Miss Sue is a Syfyer who does not cook or bake
  • She never wears shorts or bathing suits

Andrea Tucker

Andrea Tucker - A Step Above Dance Studio

Andrea Tucker has been instructing baton and dance for more than 25 years. She has been a part of ASA for more than 20 years, both as a dance and baton student and a teacher and business manager. She has brought home numerous regional and national awards. Though her forte is baton she is also trained in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop.

In the past she has been the majorette and color guard instructor for Lima Central Catholic. While in this position she choreographed award winning routines that were performed at college level football games and have won top awards. In 2013 she was awarded a choreography award at the regional level.

Currently, Andrea lives in Spencerville with her husband, Jason, their beautiful two year old daughter, Nora who is their pride and joy. In her spare time Andrea loves to spend time playing with her Nora-bug, scrapbooking, cooking, and doing anything outdoors.

Two things to know about Andrea:

  • Andi is known as the Post-It note Queen
  • Has an obsession with gift wrap, especially gift bags and tissue paper

Jordyn Rider

jordyn ryder

Jordyn Rider is an ASA alumni. This is her 4th year teaching for ASA. Jordyn graduated from BGSU with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor in dance. While at BGSU, Jordyn was an active member in the University Dance Alliance organization where she held two officer positions and choreographed for six UDA showcases. She also choreographed for two BGSU Dance Program Showcases and was a part of BGSU’s tap repertoire in 2012.

Jordyn has trained under numerous dance professionals such as former Broadway dancer, Tracey Wilson, Kristi Faulkner of Kristi Faulker Dance Company, and So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 Winner Joshua Allen. Jordyn has studied ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical, modern, and has many years experience in cheerleading and tumbling. Jordyn’s favorite style of dance is contemporary. She was named A Step Above’s prestigious award Dancer of the Year in 2010.

Two things to know about Jordyn:

  • Jordyn’s goal is to become a Tap Wizard
  • Jordyn danced in a cave with authentic Flamenco dancers in Granada, Spain

Billy Foster

Billy Foster - A Step Above Dance Studio

Billy has been a part of the ASA family for 20 years, helping to bring home numerous regional and national overall awards. He has personally been recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives for his National titles. Billy has won several titles including Mr. Encore National title, two Ultimate Dance titles, and was named A Step Above Dancer of the Year in 2012. He has participated in numerous regional and national Master Classes and workshops taught by dance professionals such as Kent Boyd and Joshua Allen. He has not only been a part of several local and school productions, he has assisted in the choreography for White Christmas, Flat Stanley, and You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. In 2010 he was chosen to model dancewear for the Algy dance catalog. His favorites styles of dance are tap and lyrical and enjoys jazz and hip hop as well.

Billy graduated in 2012 from Lima Senior High School where he was second in his class. While in high school, he was active in drama, band, The National Honor Society for High School Scholars, and served as Vice President of the National Honor Society. His senior year he was named Drum Major of the Spartan Marching Pride. He is also an active member of the Boy Scouts where he is assistant scoutmaster for his former troop. In 2012 he was awarded the Eagle Scout award.

Two things to know about Billy:

  • Mr. Billy is scared of bears and snakes unless they are in Gummy form
  • One day he hopes to be able to combine his favorite foods of ice cream and Taco Bell

Jamie Grey

Jamie Grey - A Step Above Dance Studio

Miss Jamie has been dancing and teaching for more than 20 years. She trained with Class Act Dance Studio through graduation during school and then continued dance education studying with Mia Michaels and Joe Tremaine just to name a few. During her dance training she was part of the dance team for Australian Body Works in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended numerous competitions including Showstoppers and Rising Star competitions and continued after she opened her own studio for several years, State of the Arts. After a short dance hiatus, Miss Jamie is now joining A Step Above and bringing her amazing skills to our students.

Two things to know about Miss Jamie:

  • Don’t ask her about bats!
  • Chocolate is her BFF!

Sierra Harmon

Sierra Harmon - A Step Above Dance Studio
Miss Sierra is entering her 15th year with ASA where she has studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and tumbling. She was a member of the ASA Competition Team and helped bring home numerous regional and national awards. In 2014 Sierra won ASA’s prestigious award, Dancer of the Year. She loves to teach both recreational classes and for the competition team.
In June 2014 Sierra graduated with honors from Shawnee High School. She was an active member of the Spanish Club, SADD, and Yearbook, as well as a cheerleader and a teacher’s aide. Sierra is currently in her junior year at The Ohio State University majoring in early childhood education. She is excited to begin her career as an educator very soon!In January 2016, Sierra was blessed with a beautiful baby girl! Sierra recently started a home based business in order to allow her to be a stay-at-home mom. In her free time, she loves spending time with boyfriend Daniel, daughter Lyla, and dog Helios! Aside from dance Miss Sierra enjoys scrapbooking and decorating her home.

Three things to know about Miss Sierra

  • Sierra is a professional car dancer.
  • She loves snuggling with her baby girl, and playing fetch with her fur baby.
  • She could binge watch Netflix and HGTV for days.

Lillie Crowe

Miss Lillie is entering her 14th year with ASA. She was a member of the ASA Competition Team, where she helped bring home numerous awards. She was recently named A Step Above Senior Dancer of the Year. In May 2017, Lillie graduated from Lima Senior High School. She will be a Buckeye and attend The Ohio State University to start her path to becoming an Athletic Trainer. She hopes to one day to become the Athletic Trainer for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  • Lillie has an obsession with puzzles!
  • She LOVES and we mean LOVES New Kids on the Block.
